Following his marriage to Rosa Arevalo Maynas, Antonio deepened his apprenticeship by studying under Rosa’s brother, the esteemed Maestro Guillermo Arevalo, one of the most recognized voices in the revival and preservation of Amazonian healing traditions. Over more than a decade, Antonio worked closely with Guillermo, undergoing extensive plant dietas and receiving teachings from many of the Master Plants, including Ayahuasca, Noya Rao, Bobinsana, and Chiric Sanango, among others. These dietas are not simply about consuming the plants—they are about entering into a sacred covenant with their spirits, receiving their teachings, and learning to channel their healing force through icaros (medicine songs), prayer, and ceremony.
